Tamora Langley selected for Lewisham Deptford10.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 14th Aug 2009
Lewisham Liberal Democrats have selected Tamora Langley as their prospective Parliamentary candidate for Lewisham Deptford. Tam is known as one of the leading campaigners in the country, and has won eight awards in the last year for her successful campaigns. These include raising over £300,00 to save the honey bee, successfully defending NHS services and fighting for effective ways to cut crime. Tam is also a Trustee of the Twins and Multiple Births Association. Tam says: "Everyone round here is saying that Labour takes them for granted, and that only the Liberal Democrats can beat them. We came second in 2005 and from my conversations with local residents I think we can do even better at the next General Election. "We've already started fighting to make Lewisham fairer, greener and safer, starting with a petition to save trains from Crofton Park. "I urge people to join our campaign at listentolewisham.org and let me know your ideas for sorting out Lewisham. For further information, visit www.listentolewisham.org
