Parliamentary Drinks Reception for women staff members and interns

7th July 2008, between 7.15pm and 9.00pm, at Jubilee Room, Houses of Parliament

All women staff members and interns are invited to come along to a Campaign for Gender Balance event for some wine and nibbles and informal discussion on standing for Parliament. After all, it wasn't so long ago that Julia Goldsworthy and Jenny Willott were both researchers here, and who knows, it could be you next!

We are delighted that Nick Clegg, Shirley Williams and Jenny Willott will be sharing a few words of wisdom at the event, and many of our other MPs will also be on hand for informal mingling and advice.

Whether you're already an approved candidate, or the thought has never crossed your mind, you'll be very welcome. Please also do send this invitation on to women you know who might be interested who used to work here, or who work in the constituency.

West Midlands Inspiration and Training Day

19th July 2008, between 10.00am and 4.00pm, at BVSC Conference Centre, Birmingham

Our Inspiration & Training Days are friendly and informal events, designed to give female members the opportunity to learn more about becoming active in the party. If you are interested, please do come along to this event - no experience is necessary!

The day will include information and advice on becoming a candidate and training in key skills, as well as an inspirational talk from Lorely Burt, MP for Solihull. We ask for a £5 contribution towards the day, which includes lunch, and this can be paid in advance by cheque, made out the 'Liberal Democrats'.
